World Ferment Day

1 February 2027

Have you got the guts? Celebrate World Ferment Day with us this year!

Gut health is a cornerstone of all-round health and well-being.

World Ferment Day is a celebration of ferments across countries and cultures, a celebration of these amazing foods and drinks that taste delicious, support health, and connect us to the natural world and to each other.

The scientific spotlight on gut microbiota has revealed the vital role ferments can play in digestion, immunity, metabolism, mental health, and beyond. But here’s the thing: while awareness is growing, not enough of us take the vital step of altering food behaviour and consuming ferments on a regular basis.

That’s why I founded World Ferment Day - to transform theory into practice and empower you to improve your food enjoyment and your health by incorporating fermented foods and drinks like sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir and kombucha (and more!) into your life one way or another. Over time, consuming these tasty foods on a regular basis may give you the best guts you’ve ever had!

Have you got the guts to join me, Jo Webster, to celebrate World Ferment Day?
