Good nutrition is fundamental for health.

The best outcomes are attained when we work together, utilising your knowledge of yourself and mine in nutrition, gut health and medicinal herbs. Ascertaining what good nutrition means for you as an individual involves understanding the complex factors affecting your relationship with different foods and the constituents they contain. I use evidence-based nutrition and gut microbiota science to inform my approach to your individual health circumstances. Having said that, scientific research is generally relevant at population level. I aim to fully understand you as an individual and to ensure that the recommendations I make are based on your situation, not on generalisations. It is also crucial to remember that food is about so much more than nutrition. Bear in mind that I also run events, where we joyfully explore what good food (including herbs and ferments) can do for our health and how deepening our understanding of this also holds the potential to improve our relationship with the natural world upon which we depend.

Nutritional medicine

 

As something we do daily, eating and drinking represents a highly effective means of influencing both short-term and long-term health. Once I have a good understanding of where you are with your eating and drinking habits currently, we will work together to find effective and sustainable steps forward.

I will listen to you to understand your health priorities. I am able to use a range of clinical assessments and diagnostic tools to best assess any possible nutritional deficiencies, imbalances, intolerances, absorption, digestion, metabolism or excretion issues. Of course, the role of gut microbiota in health and disease is one important factor that we will consider.

Whatever the health issue, food is relevant. It can prevent illness, ameliorate or eliminate symptoms, reduce disease impact and progression and maximise energy levels and emotional wellbeing. Navigating justified long term and sustainable changes to diet can be complicated though and doing so with my help, insight, expertise and support can make all the difference to the outcome.
